Cycling To Benidorm For The Pink Place

18 April 2024

If you’re going to cycle anywhere, why not Benidorm? That’s the view of Pink Place trustee Craig Killick, who sets off tomorrow from Basingstoke on a three-week, 1,700km solo journey on two wheels.

Complete with camping equipment, his journey will take him down to Portsmouth for an overnight ferry before cycling from St. Malo down through France and across the middle of Spain, hoping to arrive in the Spanish party town on 10th May.

"It's a cycling challenge I've wanted to do for a few years now. Since working with the charity last year, it doesn't take long to realise that any of us simply don't know what's around the corner that will impact our lives. So, the time is now.

Craig is no stranger to cycling charity challenges but this one is different. With no support he will cycle around 50-60 miles a day, fitting in his day job as a marketing consultant at either end of each day.

"My clients have been fantastic. Not just with my time, but also with very generous donations. In fact, all of the sponsors are clients and they have added a very large sum of money between them that has gone straight to the charity. I can't thank them enough, along with everyone else who is supporting me. It means the world.

So far, Craig has managed to raise £13,000 and aims to have £15,000 by the time he reaches the Costa Blanca in three week’s time.

You can donate via his Benidorm 24 website which also has links to his social media, where he will be posting regular updates on his journey.
