Even the weather played ball, as two teams from Lavazza Profesional battled it out in the early evening sunshine on Monday at Winklebury Football Complex to raise money for The Pink Place.
Organised by Sam Bennett, Sam Allen and Chris Webb from Lavazza Professional, a team from the office played a team from the factory for the all important bragging rights.
In a hard fought game, it ended up being an even match with the score drawn at 6-6 at full time. Embracing the jeopardy of penalties, the factory team were victorious in the end and were presented with the winners trophy in front of a large crowd made up of colleagues and friends.
Thanks for the fantastic work of Sam, Sam and Chris, and the ongoing generosity of everyone from Lavazza Professional, the event managed to raise a whopping £1548.50, with a cheque being presented to Christine by Sam Bennet and Ken MacIsaac, both from Lavazza Professional.

It was an absolute pleasure to have organised this event with both Sam Allen and Chris Webb for such a fantastic charity. Us three alongside the other 32 players who competed also took great satisfaction in being able to take part in an event that was able to raise such a significant amount of money. The Pink Place provides important support to people who are going through the horrific journey of cancer diagnosis and to be able to raise the amount we did, it fills Sam, Chris & myself with immense pride. Based on the amount raised, the company wide Lavazza Professional team clearly feels the same way by showing great intent to donate to this amazing cause.
From a personal touch, I have seen first hand the fantastic work that The Pink Place does for people and to be able to have organised an event that has a positive effect on this, it's a great feeling. We want to thank Christine, Craig and the rest of the team who helped to make this event extra special and for the work you all provide to our local community in Basingstoke.
A partnership for us all to be proud of.Sam Bennett, Lavazza Professional
