We are pleased to announce that Limelight, the award-winning youth theatre group based in Basingstoke, is supporting The Pink Place during its autumn run of Legally Blonde, which is taking place between 30th October and 1st November at QM Hall at Queen Mary’s College in Basingstoke.
The group, which prides itself on its positive, friendly and inclusive atmosphere, approached The Pink Place to suggest a collaboration for collections at each performance, and to use the promotion of the show to help raise awareness for the charity.
“At Limelight Basingstoke, we believe that theatre has the power to bring people together — not just on stage, but in our community. Supporting The Pink Place felt like a natural fit, as they do incredible work here in Hampshire for those affected by cancer. Through our production of Legally Blonde, we’re raising funds via retirement collections and donations linked to ticket sales, and adding a fun ‘Dress It Pink’ theme for show week to spread awareness. “Our young cast is proud to be part of something that makes a real difference, and we hope our audiences will join us in supporting this wonderful cause.”
Stephanie Webb, Chair of Limelight
As part of the campaign, we are working together with Limelight to launch a crowdfunding effort to fund 40 tickets to enable some of our own Pink Place ladies to attend for free.
Any kind donations can be made either through Limelight’s ticket purchasing platform when you buy your ticket, or directly on our Fundraising Page.
“When community-focused organisations such as Limelight approach us to work in collaboration, we are always incredibly grateful and keen to get involved. Stephanie and the team are so full of enthusiasm, and their encouragement of their young members to ‘pay it forward’ is inspiring.”
Christine Griffiths, Events & Fundraising Manager
The Crowdfunding promotion is available now until the end of September, and we are hoping to raise enough money to purchase 40 tickets for Pink Place guests for what looks to be a fun, uplifting occasion.
Why not also snap up a ticket for yourself?
